If you are interested in submitting an article to Plato's Ladder, please read the Terms and Conditions below and then fill out the form at the bottom of the page.
Terms and Conditions
Articles submitted for consideration should expand the conversation around sex and relationships, have a positive, constructive, or exploratory tone that is appropriate for Plato's Ladder, and be written by a person, not a PR department. We appreciate articles that introduce new ideas and advance conversations around topics that engage our audience. We like thoughtful, polished writing that balances research or news with interesting anecdotes or examples that help illustrate your point of view. Personal stories based on actual experiences or erotic fantasies are also encouraged.
While we encourage drawing from your own experiences to support your ideas, Plato's Ladder will not publish articles featuring over-the-top self-promotion. The same goes for dense jargon and vague or sweeping assertions. Please do not submit pitches, abstracts, outlines, or press releases.
Submitted articles should generally be between 600 and 1,200 words though longer articles will be considered. Plato's Ladder cannot offer to compensate you or pay you for contributed stories. Submitting an article is not a guarantee that your submission will be published. Plato's Ladder does not require exclusivity of your submission but we ask that you do not submit any text that has been or will be published on another site or platform that does require exclusivity.
Submissions are generally reviewed within a week. If you don’t receive a response within one week of submitting, it’s safe to assume that your piece was not selected for publication.
For submissions we do choose to publish:
All articles are subject to editing.
Headlines and subheads are subject to change.
We will do our best to preserve the meaning of your content but please keep in mind your submission may be edited for style, tone, or substance.
Links may be added for context.
Art will be added at the discretion of Plato's Ladder.
Articles may or may not be promoted across Plato's Ladder sites, including our social feeds.
Plato's Ladder may permit a select number of partner outlets to syndicate contributed articles that we’ve published originally.
